I have found relevant manuals about alternator products at www.prestolite.com They have also units which can produce up to 4 kW at 3000 rpm, at 24 Vdc. Take a look at their curves, and you will notice that most of the units will produce something like 50-60% of the rated current at a minimum of 2000 rpm. Another hint is that the efficiency is something like 50-60%, not very clearly stated in the data sheets. Beyond the fact that you need 4 kW power at turbine output shaft in order to have 2 kW output from the alternator, you have to be able to dissipate 2 kW of heat from the alternator itself...
