*Job Description :*
· The Database/Scalable DataWarehouse Consultant is one of several
customer-facing roles performed by NCR’s Professional Services organization
that focuses on delivering data warehouse solutions to customers.
· Provides in-depth technical needs analysis, advice, and technical
support regarding database configuration and utilization issues.
· Responsible for designing database query specifications, database
implementation, performance tuning administration and security.
· Some have data modeling and data mining skills. Typically engage
in post-sale delivery activities, but may participate in pre-sale activities
directly with customers.
· Works with relationship database technology in an application
development environment (Teradata, DB2, ORACLE, Informix) and data sourcing
tools (Visual Basic, Powerbuilder).
· A senior level position that typically leads engagement planning
and execution of client consulting projects and helps secure new
engagements.
· Requires technical degree in computer science with a database
concentration or related discipline, and 8 to 10 years related experience.
*Additional Job Description:*
· Expenses will be paid if travel required.
· *The successful candidate will be responsible for: *
o *Providing ETL architecture guidance and recommendations
surrounding DataStage in a Teradata environment *
o *Assisting the project manager in the ETL project planning and
resourcing *
o *Developing Conceptual designs, ETL Designs, and DataStage
processes. *
o *Mentoring two Teradata DBA team members with DataStage
development. *
o *Managing a team of 3-5 offshore team members *
· *The successful candidate will have the following skill
set/experience: *
o *7+ years of overall ETL Architecture experience *
o *IBM DataStage 7.x and 8.x development and architecture experience
*
o *Experience with leading teams of 5 or more onshore and offshore *
o *Experience with Project and Resource planning *
o *Capable of providing presentations to the client to explain and
sell new concepts and ideas *
