  • After you drag a flow chart shape into your drawing view the document stencil
  • Do this from the file menu under submenu 'stencils'
  • edit the stencil master object that corresponds to the shape you just placed.
  • when you close it, visio will ask if you want to update all 'instances' - click yes
  • for all additional flow chart shapes of this type that you want drag them from the document stencil instead of the visio stencil.  each will be formatted the same.

I have two questions about Visio. I am trying to create some flow
charts for my company.
When I drag a shape onto the page, the shape is already formatted with
shadows and color.  I want a plain shape. I have figured out how to
change the individual shape's shadow and fill each time.  Is there a
way to change the formatting or style so that there are no shadows and
fill?

The default font size is 8 and I want to make it 12 for each shape.
Same question, how do I set the font at 12 for each new shape?
Thanks for any help.
