Until this is enhanced, you will have to change the datatype in two places--1) the database i.e., Number to Varchar2 and 2) middlegen GUI BigDecimal to String.
I've seen that there is no preferred type mapping mechanism in middlegen. Is it right? This by my opinion would be more usefull.
The good is that I've looked at the middlegen code to find a solution (or the problem), and for me is quite easy to understand.
