Could you provide some more of the error output? What Middlegen code
actually logs that error?

I'm guessing it's the MiddlegenPopulator throwing an exception due to
unsupported operations in your jdbc/odbc driver.

Can you successfully connect to MS Access using that driver from other
applications? Configuring jdbc-drivers is known to be a problem when using
MS Access afaik.
