FWIW, 2.0 is not in any sense a commercial version. It will still be
under the GPL, and as such you're free to resell/distribute it.

I understand the concern of using beta software for a production site.
The greywolves is still running 1.2.4, although that is more the
result of the server being inaccessable physically and we're in the
process of moving to a new machine, which will run 1.4b5.
The 1.4 series has a number of improvements which include calendaring,
more record extensibility, and better separation of unrelated sites
served by one Midgard deployment.
1.4beta5 was just released. If your schedule is urgent I must
recommend 1.2.5, which is the latest stable release, however if you're
planning to use sitegroups the migration is going to be labour
intensive. If you're planning on using sitegroups I'd recommend
deploying 1.4beta5. If your schedule allows to wait for 1.4beta5 to
mature, or for the release candidate, I recommend that.
