At last it works !!!
the php module compiled and worked with the following options:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs/ --with-midgard
make
make install
now I can see everything from the Linux box
when I get to another machine on the network I get
is there something I forgot to do inside httpd.conf
