Fellow birders, I am requesting your help with the coverage of Putnam County in eastern New York state for the NYS Ornithological Association's annual January Waterfowl Count. This year the count will occur during the week of January 16-24 (target date - Sunday, January 17, 2010). This data is used for long-term monitoring of wintering waterfowl populations, environmental reviews and bird conservation.
Other counties covered by Region 9 include: Sullivan, Orange, Westchester, Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam and Rockland. If you are interested in participating in these counties, please let me know and I can find you a territory.
