Glenn Proudfoot and I ventured to the Shawangunk Grasslands NWR and were treated to the sight of dozens of N Harriers, an Eastern Meadowlark, a few Red-tailed Hawks, (a glimpse of a dark phase Rough- legged Hawk) and 6 Short-eared Owls. The Owls became active at about 5:00 and many times we saw 2-4 Owls perching in the same tree.
