I got out of work early this afternoon and headed to Vassar Farm for a little photography and bird watching. The day was definitely filled with much activity, which I have listed below:
- 2 Common Mergansers (1 male & 1 female) - 3 Mallards (2 male & 1 female) - 1 Belted Kingfisher (female) - 5 Killdeer - 10+ American Robins - 3 Eastern Bluebirds (All male) - 2 Northern Mockingbirds - 15+ White Throated Sparrows - 1 Song Sparrow - 8 Tree Swallows - 2 American Goldfinches (both male) - 20+ European Starlings - 1 American Kestrel! (male) - 1 Red Tailed Hawk I got photos of most of the birds listed above, and I'll post some later. The kestrel was cool to see. He was eating a snake, which I had also seen quite a few of today.
