I visited Whitlock Preserve located on Knight Road, Stanfordville, for the first time last evening. What a little gem of a preserve - multiple habitats and a nice picnic area by the pond. It wasn't very "birdy" during my visit - a crow, an eastern phoebe, a few chickadees and tufted titmouse but my excitement was flushing a Barred Owl when I was walking alongside the marsh.
