Hi all,

I went over to Vlei Marsh last night around 9:30 - 11:00pm. This is the largest
fresh water marsh in Rhinebeck consisting of about 100 acres. It was a little
quiet but 2 SORA where calling almost the whole time I was there. Also, I was
able to entice an AMERICAN BITTERN to call a few times. Other birds of note I
heard were GREEN-WINGED TEAL and MARSH WREN. I was hoping for King or Virginia
Rail but no luck. Swamp Sparrow was also not encountered which I found a little
odd. Hope everyone enjoyed the Blackpoll Warblers that seemed to everywhere
yesterday after the big flight Friday night! Good Birding
