Today, least bitterns began cooing on Greenport's North Bay at 5:15 A.M. Two
hours later they'd all but quieted, but not before I counted at least eight
distinct individuals cooing in unison. (There may have been more. And the two
that I saw were both males.)

This is the third year that I've had least bitterns returning to this marsh. I
don't know how long before I started looking the least bitterns used the North
Bay for breeding, but I can't find any documentation that this is a known spot
for them.

Does anyone know how I can put the North Bay onto the bittern's breeding map?
Who may I contact?

By contrast, Hudson South Bay has no least bitterns, and oddly no marsh wrens
either.
