So my old buddy Neil Planzer used the projection of a crash every few weeks by 2015. An oldie but goodie. I used it a couple of times in Montreal, as I recall. Once to suggest that ICAO needed to ramp up its safety programs a notch or two. And we did, by the way. Now we always gave the credit for the projection to Boeing, but no matter.
If I recall correctly Mary Schiavo accused us of hiding some dark secret about the system's safety. Turned out to be this projection which was pretty much known throughout the industry. By the way, since it didn't happen...do we get any credit for that?
