Can anyone provide the contact information for Richard Quest? I would like to discuss with him why most airline delays, and the $100s of Billions in annual costs are unnecessary. With decades of expertise in airline operations, ATC and piloting (USAF, corporate, United B400 Captain, retired), it is clear that waiting for ATC to mitigate airline delays, congestion and excess CO2, is not working, and hasn't been working for 50 years. Not only does this cost individual airlines Billions annually, but it unnecessarily reduces product quality and safety while increasing CO2 emissions. The fact is that ATC can't make airlines/operators efficient. They never could, never have and never will. This is not their job. ATC's job is safety and separation, not airline/operator efficiency. Only each individual airline/operator has the business interest, worldwide communication, real time data and cross border capability to make their "day of" operation efficient. Also consider that governments and airlines have spent over 5 decades and $100s of Billions trying to build an ATC centric solution that prevents delays and makes airlines efficient - and failed.
