What a strangely written article. I’ll confess to having fallen for the click-bait “No.4 Will Surprise You” though only after being intrigued by TK’s busiest international routes in 2025.
I was puzzled to find that #4 is IST-JFK. Um ... why is that a surprise? Then I realized that it is not TK’s top 20 international routes but rather the top 20 international routes that happen to be served by TK, sorted by passenger volume for all airlines. IST-JFK is the international route on which TK carries the most passengers but is #4 because nobody else flies it whereas IST-LON ranks #1 because the combination of carriers (and perhaps LON airports) is in aggregate greater then IST-JFK. Why would anyone organize an article about TK this way? Does it even reflect TK’s top 20 international routes? If TK served IST-PPT (I’m pretty sure they don’t but didn’t check) with no competition and carried 200,000 passengers in 2024, that route would be bigger for TK than #20 IST-GYD but wouldn’t appear to make the cut for the article. I can’t decide if this is AI slop, juvenile journalism like Simpleton Flying, or just the tabloid-like trash that seems to be rampant in aviation journaling. Give me more of AW&ST is reliable and Jon Ostrower’s The Air Current is awesome and of course there are others which are good. I wish they weren’t the exceptions in a crowded field. </rant> -- Karl > On Jul 20, 2025, at 2:21 PM, Jack Keady via Mifnet <[email protected]> > wrote: > > keady > > Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 01:59:26 PM PDT > Subject: Turkish Airlines Busiest International Routes in 2025, No.4 Will > Surprise You > > > aviationa2z.com > > Turkish Airlines Busiest International Routes in 2025, No.4 Will Surprise You > <> > Turkish Airlines (TK) faces mounting challenges in 2025, with operational > hurdles and fleet constraints impacting its Istanbul-based operations. > > 🔗 > https://aviationa2z.com/index.php/2025/07/20/turkish-airlines-busiest-international-routes-in-2025-no-4-will-surprise-you/ > > <https://aviationa2z.com/index.php/2025/07/20/turkish-airlines-busiest-international-routes-in-2025-no-4-will-surprise-you/> > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Revised: 20250507 > > You are receiving The Mifnet because you requested to join this list. > > The Mifnet is largely a labor of love, however the infrastructure isn't > exactly cost-free.
