Bob,

 

This post led me down the rabbit hole of Google, Wikipedia, etc., to find out

eventually that the first Mini convertibles, built pre-BMW takeover, were sold 
in 1993.

 

A photo of that original version, with two later BMW variants, shows a really 
compact

set of wheels, with all parts still attached to the car.

Well Tom,

 

You have a point. There are a few personal parts I'd like to hang on to but 
some can be replaced, sometimes even with upgrades. 

 

Got cataracts replace early this year, went from 20/40 to 20/20 or better. Got 
brand new ears, got Bluetooth, if I whack myself on one ear it talks to me. I 
can ask questions. & have a conversation. 

 

My knees are approaching their fatigue limit but they're also eligible for 
replacement on condition.
