Jack,

The base XLR has more cargo capacity than an A321LR but less than the base
A321. Here’s what I sent to the list on the topic several months ago:

I couldn’t find a good set of specs on the Airbus site so resorted to Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A321neo
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A321neo>

Airbus offers optional Additional Centre Tanks (ACTs) which hold 3,121 liters
(824 US gallons). Up to two can be fitted in the aft cargo hold; the A321XLR
adds a third one in the forward cargo hold.

The A321XLR features a Rear Centre Tank (RCT) which has slightly more than four
times the capacity of an ACT whilst weighing the same as an ACT and occupying
the cargo space of two ACTs. An optional forward ACT can also be fitted.

A A321XLR with the optional forward ACT has the same cargo capacity as an
A321LR but without that option it has room for one more LD3-45.
