On some widebodies, the large shell of the seat pod blocks the window so no ambient light enters the cabin, and you cannot even contort yourself to try to look out the window for a few minutes at a time. Try that for 16.5 hours on airlines like Cathay Pacific (I only saw that on my way back to the non-reclining sliding seats in the back. At least we had windows.)
One wonders what the decision-makers are thinking, other than stuffing as many bodies into the tube as possible. Or if they tried the seats themselves, first?
