Yes, I've seen this ocassionally in Tomcat.

It seems to relate to objects stored in the session not being
serializable. This is a known issue in Mifos
(http://mifos.org/developers/wiki/SerializationIssues) and though I
haven't tried it yet, we may be able to eliminate the error by turning
off serialization in the config file (as mentioned on the wiki page).

Of course, the real solution is to properly support serialization of
objects stored in the http session.

Subject: [Mifos-developer] error seen on Tomcat startup: Address can't
beserialized

Anyone see this error on Tomcat (or JBoss) startup? I don't have a
consistent repro, it just seems to pop up every now and then.

IOException while loading persisted sessions:
java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted;
java.io.NotSerializableException:
org.mifos.framework.business.util.Address
java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted;
java.io.NotSerializableException:
