[...] Hi Nagesh and friends at IBM, Our rigorous review process is finally complete. Thank you for your patience! Your content was quite helpful. Here is the latest draft: http://mifos.org/developers/install-mifos/linux-os-box Please let me know what you think of the latest copy. Unfortunately, the preview and diff features don't seem to do much... I'll ask Ed about this. Anyway, here are my comments: TODO 1. Please validate the new process -> Validated the document. 2. Please Move "Authors/Reviewers" to "Contributors" section in document properties ( http://tinyurl.com/29tztc ) -> Removed the "Authors/Reviewers" from the document and we donot have authorization to move it to the "Contributors section". QUESTIONS 1. Why do you set the bind-address for the MySQL server? Does this limit the listener to the local loopback device? -> Note:- "bind-address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", is required if the machine has two or more network cards. MySQL should be configured to specify to which address it should listen to. 2. Why is the following suggestion made? You may have to comment out some of the fields in /etc/my.cnf file or rename the file in order the startup the MySQL daemon. CHANGES I MADE 1. the only difference between RHEL 5 and 4 appeared to be the MySQL section. Deleted duplicate sections. 2. reordered sections into a basic "install, configure, deploy" pattern 3. Mifos WAR isn't in SVN and using a prebuilt war is problematic anyway (must use root db user or hand-customize war)... seems safer to just build and deploy it with Ant 4. mention architecture is x86 5. multiple JRE/JDK versions can coexist peacefully, no need to remove old ones 6. don't use the root user for running JBoss/Mifos 7. don't use the root user for MySQL 8. using a more descriptive title for the page 9. standardize style for commands run as root/non-root 10. leverage existing wiki content 11. fix references to JBOSS_HOME 12. add convenient symlinks Cheers, -Adam -- Adam Monsen
