Hi Keith,

thanks for your concern and assistance,I really appreciate you and
thanks to Bart Berning for replying.I have gotten how the disbursal
date is working ,I can now understand it better. After going through
your message where you said that 'date is set when you create or modify
the center'.Although I have seen where they also specify this in the
mailing list, but I never understand it then until when I went through
your message and I just get how it works after looking at that area
again.

But there is something I noticed in the Center Detail Page which I will
like someone to help me look into,I noticed that the Edit Meeting
Schedule Link is not working fine.

I want to change the meeting schedule,so I clicked on the Edit
Meeting Schedule Link on the Center Details page and it took me to the
Meeting Schedule Page where I choosed another day. After that I clicked
on the save button with the hope that it will change the Meeting
Schedule but it did not.

So,I think that Link is not working fine or am the one who does not
understand how it works. Please I will need assistance on how to Edit
Meeting Schedule.

Thanks very much for your assistance,I will be expecting your reply
soon.Concerning the documentation for the business rule,Bart Berning
has reply to this topic directing me to a page on the mifos website
(http://www.mifos.org/knowledge/functional-specs/loans/,) in the mean
time.

He also said I should search for "loan disbursal date" for more
detail.I have gone to this page and I think it will be very useful for
me to understand more on the business rule.

Please someone should help me look into the Meeting Schedule Link I complained
about above,I will be expecting your reply.

Thanks and remain blessed.

Hi all,
The documentation certainly could (and will) be improved. In the mean
time, I find that the best first step is to go to www.mifos.org and run
a search (in the upper right corner).

In this case, entering "loan disbursal date", yields several relevant
pages that would help answer your question in a few minutes.

In particular look in the functional spec (also in the search results)
which has the default values for many fields in mifos. The 'Attributes
for Loan Accounts' table on
http://www.mifos.org/knowledge/functional-specs/loans/, shows the
default for disbursal date is 'next meeting date.'

Cheers,
Bart

Problem;documentation goals continued

Quadri,

I am glad that you are interested in MifOS and have started to dive into
its inner workings.

A business expert ought to verify this (I'm a new developer myself), but
I believe that MifOS sets the disbursal date to the day of the next
meeting of the client's group or center. That date is set when you
create or modify the center. That would explain why the disbursal date
appears arbitrarily set.

Your frustration is certainly felt, Quadri, and is quite relevant to the
recent discussion thread on documentation -- see
http://tinyurl.com/2zrzec. I had exactly the same problem when I started
to learn how MifOS works. Can someone help Quadri find the documentation
of this business rule? Is there a general sequence of steps that someone
interested in MifOS should follow to track down such rules? Is there
something we can add to the "documentation goals"
page that would guide an author to make it easier for an interested
person to find the answer questions like this?
