Please consider this suggestion for future submissions: Do not insert comments that demarcate code changes (e.g. "//begin insertion for issue 1587"). Over time they clutter the code with information that is of no use to anyone except the reviewer of the patch, and become a distraction. But it is easy enough for the reviewer to determine what changed using common diff tools or Eclipse's compare function.
