Thanks for the great suggestion.  I've added this to the issue tracker
so we can review it along with the other post 1.1 work.  It is logged as
issue 2045 -  https://mifos.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2045

If anyone else has other ideas or suggestions about this feature, please
add a comment to the issue.

While testing, and also in production (for hosted options etc), it would

be really nice if we could display the current system date (and even 
time in some cases), so that the users know what time (timezone) the 
server is in.  Now this is too late for a new feature in 1.1 but if the 
work effort is not too much this would be a really good thing to have, 
even if we could display it in the System information page in the Admin 
section.
