Error viewing Batch job page after executing update test

In anticipation of upgrading customers to 2.0.2, I tested savings posting and
end of Q1 by moving system date foward to April 2 and executing all batch jobs
via the batch jobs page.
After letting batch jobs execute, next day login to system (system date is now
back to current date/time) and view Batch Job page. Now see attached screen
with error:

the server was 98,292,835 milliseconds ago. is longer than the server
configured value of 'wait_timeout'. You should consider either expiring and/or
testing connection validity before use in your application, increasing the
server configured values for client timeouts, or using the Connector/J
connection property 'autoReconnect=true' to avoid this problem.; nested
exception is com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: The last
