Ed, I have a preliminary answer for you. First, the Workflow, Triggers, and
Actions modules are old and hard to work with. Second, I think that your use
case can be implemented with the [Rules module|http://drupal.org/project/rules]
(replaces workflow, actions, and triggers). Here's a [link to a use
case|http://drupal.org/node/550716] that is similar to what you've described.

I'll play around with it and let you know if it looks like it will work.

> Keith,
> Do you have some time early this week to discuss this verbally with me?
> Originally when we launched the new mifos.org website I wanted to duplicate
> the directory functionality we had on the old mifos.org site on Plone.
> The directory is a tool that allows MFIs needing service and Specialists
> providing support connect and find each other.
> The user flow for the directory on Plone previously was as follows:
> 1) User creates an account on mifos.org
> 2) User has option to separately create a directory profile for that account
> 3) User creates profile and I get notified and must approve submission of
> profile.
> 4) Once approved, directory profile is publically viewable and authenticated
> user can edit own profile.
> 5) Directory profiles are searchable.
> I tried to create that same user experience as much as possible on the new
> Drupal site utilizing a custom content type called Directory Profile that is
> searchable via custom views I built. However, I never got the workflow
> correct so no one has been able to submit directory profile content.
> I think the following user flow could be possible in Drupal:
> 1) User creates an account on mifos.org
> 2) User has option to create their own "directory profile" for submission and
> approval or 2b) Anonymous user can create and submit a "directory profile"
> for approval
> 3) Once submitted, "directory profile" is in pending approval state and only
> visible by admin and owner of content.
> 4) Upon submission, admin gets notification of "directory profile" content
> type pending approval
> 5) Admin approves directory profile
> 6) Directory profile now publically viewable and can be edited by content
> owner in the future.
> I played around a little bit with Workflows and Trigger modules but think I
> may need Actions enabled as well to try and complete the workflow I'm seeking.

> See http://archive.mifos.org/knowledge/support/using-mifos.org/directory/ for
> a how-to on using old community directory.
