The new feature, Mifos-2889 - the ability to approve/disburse loans, in the past makes for a great option for data migration directly from the UI.
However to most usable, we should also add support for specifying a creation date in the past for new loan product.
Let's say one has just set a up a new installation of Mifos and is in the process of migrating existing loan accounts. You can now backdate the date of approval and disbursal of loan accounts but get an error message because you can only create the new loan product as of the current date.
While the workaround of moving the system date back can mitigate this issue, this is not possible for remote virtual instances and require the implementer to be there in person to manipulate the system date.
