Hi Sander van der Heyden,
I did not understand your comment fully.
What I am suggesting is not a workaround - but an improvement over the current way in which Mifos shows an account as overdue and NPA status.
For loans with interest recalculation, Mifos internally maintains 2 repayment schedule: a) original repayment schedule as at the time of disbursing the loan b) current repayment schedule - which changes as customer makes repayments that do not exactly match the original repayment schedule - this could become a shorter schedule if the customer makes excess repayments.
One of the Mifos X users wants to show a loan as overdue (or as NPA), only if the loan is overdue in comparison to the original repayment schedule. And amount that is overdue also should be computed in relation to the original repayment schedule. While there could be others who want to compare with current repayment schedule to show if a loan is overdue or not. This is the reason why we have added this configuration.
So if you want to follow the original feature as it exists today, you can set the configuration to "show loan as overdue/NPA, after comparing with on-going repayment schedule". Whereas for the user mentioned above, they could set this configuration to "show loan as overdue/NPA, after comparing with original repayment schedule".
