In general, we do not recommend storing images / binary files in the database.
We could use functionality similar to https://demo.openmf.org/api-docs/apiLive.htm#documents_create with the datatables API to allow associating binary data with datatables. The location of the file on the file system / Amazon S3 would be stored in the respective datatable column
