Hello there, I represent a small MFI in Thailand. We are a startup with about 150 customers and have been in operation for about 6 months now. We are looking for a MIS to help us manage our data better and to improve operational efficiencies. At this current stage we really need a very simple solution that will enable us to manage our loans, customers and accounting. However, we also want something that can support us and be flexible and robust enough to grow as we grow.
I am very interested in the Mifos solution but am unsure if it would be applicable for an operation of our small stature and size. It seems to me that a great deal of technical expertise is required to get the system up and running. In addition, it seems that the hardware requirements are quite considerable too. We operate out of one office at the moment and have only just begun to consider networking our PCs. We do not possess the kind of hardware that is recommended in the system requirements section on the Mifos website. Therefore, I am wondering if Mifos would be suitable for us. I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who can offer me any advice and/or who might have experience implementing MIS solutions in such small operations. Many thanks in advance.
