If you wanted to be creative.. you could use a MT750UP along with a RB260GSP.....(use a separate power supply with each one, don't cascade them for power)
Having said that, you have to start paying attention to how much power is going thru them, Little products are not designed to carry a whole lot of current, which is the reason why you don't see 8 port poe devices.. cause if they made them, then they would consume a lot more power.. Then you also have the issue of redundant power, or ac power & battery etc... Nice thing is that MT can be powered by dual power, one on the dc jack and one on the inbound POE port.. but again you have to make sure you are not pushing / pulling a whole lot of current... as such, the digital loggers become attractive... they can supply more power/current, and they have an added bonus... which is you can plug in a couple of batteries, it will charge them and provide backup power... again you need to review the manual to make sure you are sizing the battery's appropriately, otherwise you need to provide an external power supply to charge them.. Moral of the story is... the challange is on how to balance the desire for a small foot print, multiple ports, poe and power .... :) Regards Faisal Imtiaz Snappy Internet & Telecom 7266 SW 48 Street Miami, FL 33155 Tel: 305 663 5518 x 232 Help-desk: (305)663-5518 Option 2 or Email: [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Bob Pensworth-Lists" <[email protected]> > To: "Mikrotik Users Group" <[email protected]> > Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 8:09:47 PM > Subject: [Mikrotik Users] RB750UP > I'm just finding out about the RB-750UP. Great for powering and power cycling > AP's, etc at remote sites. > I do not see this in the RB-2000 line? I would like to see 8 or more ports > all with POE, remote power cycle > capabilities in a rack mountable unit with indicators next to the Ethernet > ports.
