If all you are looking for is knowledge Im sure the online course will be just
fine. The labs might be interesting in an online course compared to in class.
You just won't be able to write the tests for the certifications, MikroTik has
weird requirements where they even require a picture of the class writing the
tests.

Subject: [Mikrotik Users] e-learning training

I was taking a look at the Mikrotik training schedule tonight and I noticed
that Rick Frey is offering the training on-line in the month of January. He is
offering the training on the first 4 levels of the curriculum. I was curious if
anyone else has ever taken this or a similar course? I did notice that after
completion of the course you receive a cert of completion, as opposed to the
Mikrotik certification that you would receive while taking a formal class.

Also, aside from bragging rights, does the certification from formal training
offer any other perks besides knowledge? I have always wanted to take the MTCRE
course, but was told that I couldn't receive a cert if I wasn't MTCNA
certified, but was more than free to take the class. I honestly don't care
about the certs, I more or less need the knowledge. Its been hard trying to
find the time to take these classes at these distant places. I do make the trip
to the Vegas WISPA show (vacation more or less), where it's pretty easy to duck
out to take a call or fix an issue. It likely wouldn't be prudent to do that at
a formal Mikrotik class.

I appreciate any input!
