Both are fine and work as expected. I wouldn't plan on v7 anytime soon.
Also, you probably don't need a lot of cores unless you
are using something in Mikrotik that will work with multiple cores. (i.e.
not BGP)

Even if you don't think you need it, it's always better to have a fiber
port than not have it.
