Ummm, yes. I am not a fan of the approach taken by the wiki, because it is not really all that secure. It DOES stop the log entries, but it isn't really that good of an approach. I have an input firewall script that you can put on any of your routers that have a public IP to stop this from the internet. You SHOULD protect the private IPs, too. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you a copy of it. Note, this is not a free firewall, but it DOES work and it IS a secure firewall. One year, I set up a router at my house and offered to give that router to anyone at the MUM who could log into it and change the system ID. I left it without a password....I still have that router. ;-) -- ******************************************************************** * Butch Evans * Professional Network Consultation * * http://www.butchevans.com/ * Network Engineering * * http://store.wispgear.net/ * Wired or Wireless Networks * * http://blog.butchevans.com/ * ImageStream, Mikrotik and MORE! * * NOTE THE NEW PHONE NUMBER: 702-537-0979 * ******************************************************************** _______________________________________________ Mikrotik mailing list Mikrotik@mail.butchevans.com http://www.butchevans.com/mailman/listinfo/mikrotik Visit http://blog.butchevans.com/ for tutorials related to Mikrotik RouterOS
