Well as my wan interface is getting it's IP address via DHCP from a cable provider, I did not set a 'local' address for the GRE tunnel, so that the address of the outgoing interface would be used. I did try to set my actual dhcp ip address as local address on the gre interface, but still no success. The interface becomes invalid as soon as I add it to the PIM Router interfaces.
