Hello folks,
The Java release cadence being what it is, Java 8 OpenJDK will reach EOL
in November 2026.
As such I propose to update our libs to Java 11 as a build target. This
includes MIME4J, JSPF, JDKIM and JSIEVE. I also proposes myself to
trigger releases before November 2026.
Similar moves had been done on other ASF projects, EG Apache Tika 3.x
requires Java 11.
Maintaining compatibility with Tika and a broader part of the Java
ecosystem is desirable so I propose to stick o JDK 11 and not higher
versions.
