I was doing exactly that previously, but since I'm using Dag Wieers' 
yum repository to install/maintain clamav, it's annoying to have to 
change permissions on all the various clamav directories in order to 
have it run as defang every time there's a new package released.

I reverted back to that temporarily; I'm probably going to upgrade 
SpamAssassin as per Rob MacGregor's suggestion.
