Addendum (now that you posted the message itself): Neither your sendmail nor MimeDefang are the most current releases. You should upgrade both packages and see if the problem is still present.
Sendmail: 8.14.3 (you have 8.14.0, and an 8.13 configuration) MimeDefang: 2.67 (you have 2.64) 2.68 has a beta version out.
