Its not stange at all since you guys are not comparing the same kernel configs. Greg showed you a GENERIC kernel and you are booting the RAMDISK_CD kernel. Anyway, as I said to you in private e-mail, the issue with xl* being missing from the RAMDISK_CD image will be resolved when the next snapshot comes out.
