Haha! I got it.
I started poking around my libraries, and found libcrypto.so had perms of 600! Why it was that way, I do not know. Like I said, this is a pristine system -- I definitely did not do this myself. Also, why it didn't have an error like "could not access libcrypto.so: permission denied" -- I have no idea. Would have been helpful, but I'm sure that is a KDE thing, not an OBSD thing.
