If you knew how to program, you would know that what you ask for is not
possible, unfortunately.

see, make is in charge, so it's the program seeing the ^C, and there's no
way to tell it not to see it and fail in the end (removing the target,
aka the distfile, is part of its failure mode).

you can also build software using dpb, then you'll get pids for everything
that's running, and killing a stalled ftp will just prompt dpb into
resuming on the next site.

That's one of the reasons it's used for bulk builds, instead of doing
things manually.
