Last night I reinstalled the system with the latest amd64-current.

This time I reinstalled all packages in a different order - I started
with kile and was puzzled by the sheer number of dependencies. Samba?
VLC? Only to get kile up and running? Strange...
Long story short - kile is still disfunct. As before the program starts
but once I try e.g. to start a new document like 'scrreprt' cpu-usage
goes up (as shown by gkrellm) but that's all - the kile-windows won't
redraw.
OK - now your suggested commands (using .kde4/):

I can start a new document now and even a bigger document not only opens
but is compiled in no time and the PDF shown with okular! Just as I
would have expected it to work. PERFECT!
To get the test right I opened LyX for the first time after reinstall,
opened a document and let pdflatex show the PDF. With LyX still running
I reopend kile to see if it is working. It does! Good.
BTW: I noticed that in the settings kile is delivered with the ability
to run LyX-commands related to bibtex.
