FWIW: I've noticed a similar warning here on my Thinkpad T500, running
amd64 current as of October 20th. The error is not fatal and comes only
when running qemu-system-i386:

(process:16780): GLib-WARNING **: gmem.c:482: custom memory allocation
vtable not supported
QEMU 2.2.1 monitor - type 'help' for more information
