- You have unused disk space. Rather than spinning up a VM to play in, you've instead opted for letting a new OS, that you have no experience with, access and modify the raw disk bits. - You've tried installing the aforementioned new and unknown OS, on a disk that had other important data, that was already governed by another OS. To me, that doesn't sound like what an experienced user would do. <3,K.
