Are you setting the MSS to 1440 in pf.conf as per the pppoe man page? If not, you should. See the section on MTU/MSS ISSUES. I've tried using an MTU of 1508 on the ethernet interface (baby jumbos) but didn't get it working with Quest/Centurylink VDSL2. Presumably their equipment doesn't support RFC 4638. - todd
