I can't say that I've ever really noticed the fonts looking /nicer/ in fvwm vs any other of the traditional window managers. I did notice that using lavish desktop environments such as gnome or xfce usually resulted in a pleasant font experience. Check out the xsettingsd package, I have been using it with WindowMaker and now at least gtk apps look very nice outside a large environment. -ryan
