I go through the 3.8 -stable, using the FAQ, and when I get to the
portion about adding my network information, I get the following error
right after I put in my netmask...
bce0: timed out disabling ethernet mac
bce0: timed out writing pkt filter ctl
I restarted the system and ended up with the same error again. So I
booted Windows and downloaded 3.8 -current (as of 24 January 2006), to
see if something may have been updated. I also downloaded all the .tgz
as well onto a USB stick. My thinking was that maybe the fully
installed operating system would fix the issue. Mounted the USB stick
and was able to do an install of -current
Upon installing -current, I still get the same error. BCE0 works just
fine when I am on windows (using it right now to send this email. When
booting OpenBSD, there is no activity on the port.
I did get it to work one time. I used "lynx" to get to google, but then
I re-booted to add openbsd.pbr to be able to dualboot. After I
restarted and went back into OpenBSD, the NIC did not work after that.
I have done "man 4 bce" and found the following:
"bce%d: timed out writing pkt filter ctl Failed to add MAC address."
"bce%d: timed out disabling ethernet mac A problem occurred when
resetting the interface."

Is there anyway to fix this? Is there anything I have overlooked? I
looked for errata and searched the mail archives back as far as I have
them (sep 05). But no one seems to have ran into this issue.
full-dmesg below... It writes the error messages at the bottom of the
dmesg as well. Every time I boot up.
Is there anyway to manually reset the interface? I mean, if the system
is having an issue, can I reset it manually from the command line?
