Hello, my systems freezes almost anytime I run
Chrome/Firefox/Qutebrowser and visit any site that contains some soft
of scripting, or if I move the mouse somewhat to fast. But I think it
is more when there is a lot of computation involved by the browser.
When the system freezes, it is actually the screen that stops being
updated, and the mouse and keyboard do not operate. But the OS keeps
running and I can actually ssh into my laptop over the wifi. The sound
also continues, so let's say I was listening to music or playing a
movie, I still hear the sound. How do I know if I have a hardware
problem or if it is software issue ?
The only way to recover is to press the power button and force a
system halt. OpenBSD safely unmounts the partitions. Nothing strange
shows up in /var/log/Xorg.0.log or /var/log/messages or dmesg. I give
below details about my systems. I run 6.6 Amd64, using only binary
packages (pkg_add).
