Hi, I don't know if this helps you but I thought I let you know. I used to run into a lot of strange problems running httpd with mod_dav, httpd crashes and also (as far as I can remember) some db lock problems.
All my problems were solved by copying the libdav.so into the chroot directory: /var/www/usr/lib/apache/modules/libdav.so You might want to give it a try... Good luck Regards Didier
