I did some performance investigations and posted my results to the list a few months ago: https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=162400670127742 Basically the speed depends on the mood of the scheduler, but I got zero replies so that's still just a guess. It seems like it can use all the cores, just prefers not to, and then the performance tanks.
